Embark on an exceptional journey delving into the rich tapestry of early Christianity led by the esteemed Australian Christian historian, Professor John Dickson. Our exploration begins by immersing ourselves in the vast expanse of the Roman Empire, where we will delve into the intricate interplay between its pagan traditions and the enduring legacy of Judaism. Through Prof. Dickson's expert guidance, we'll navigate the dynamic tensions that characterised this era and trace the remarkable emergence of Christianity across Europe. Venturing further into the heart of antiquity, our odyssey takes us to the cradle of democracy - Greece. Here, amidst the remnants of ancient temples and bustling agora, we'll unravel the profound impact of early apostolic ministry against the backdrop of Greco-Roman culture and mythos. Witness firsthand how the ethos of Christianity stood in stark contrast to prevailing norms, often challenging societal conventions with its radical message. Returning to Rome, we'll confront the stark realities of persecution faced by early Christians, yet marvel at their unwavering resolve and compassion towards the marginalized and downtrodden. Through tales of resilience and altruism, we'll uncover the indelible imprint left by these pioneers as they exemplified their faith through acts of charity and solidarity. Join us for an unforgettable expedition through the annals of history, where each chapter unfolds to reveal the enduring spirit of early Christianity, as illuminated by the unparalleled insights of Prof. John Dickson.

The Camino Walk in Northern Spain has been a spiritual journey since the Middle Ages. Back then it was believed that if a pilgrim took the journey their sins would be forgiven! The walk ends in the town of Santiago de Compostela, where it is believed the remains of the apostle James are held in the crypt under the Cathedral. For this reason, the walk is known as the Way of Saint James (even though his remains came by boat!).The scallop shell, found on the shores in Galicia, has long been the symbol of the Camino de Santiago, and is a common signpost along the path to guide pilgrims in the direction of Santiago. Today the walk attracts people from all over the world, searching for purpose and meaning. As a group of Christians, this is an intentional walk, for your own faith, to grow and come away spiritually refreshed, but also you'll find yourself wanting to engage with others along The Way. And we want to give them an opportunity to find out more. Whatever your reason for walking, you will be inspired by the beauty of God’s creation as you walk, you will encounter different people along the way and you will have Selah moments with God as you connect with Him on your walk. For 2025 we have decided to walk the Norte (North) route along the Mediterranean Coast - more picturesque and less pilgrims than the traditional Frances route. "We joined the Camino de Santiago tour in Spain. Lisa and her team could not have done a better job of preparing us for the walk, helping us with all our travel arrangements and ensuring that the entire group had a fantastic experience. Highlights for me were singing in a 12th century church in Portomarin, the deep trust developed within the group as we shared our struggles and joys, morning prayer together, walking down laneways with mossy trees, lovely meals, hot showers and especially time to reflect. The thrill of arriving in Santiago, and sense of achievement in managing the long walking days and receiving the Compostela certificate were great, but I think most of all it was the work God was doing in me and the friendships created in the group which will stay with me. Very grateful to Selah for combing incredible professionalism and faith in all that they do." - Cathy, VIC

The Northern Territory's most famous long-distance walk, the Larapinta Trail extends along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges in Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park. Why are we doing this and what we hope people will experience? Revival is happening and we want to be part of it! In 2023 seven people from St Columbs church in Hawthorn attended the HTB Leadership Conference (LC) in London and since then our community has been inspired to pray continually for a renewal of the church and for more people to come to know Jesus. More members of our parish attended in 2024 and returned to Melbourne on fire for how they witnessed God moving whilst there. As we considered what God might be inviting us to do in 2025, the kernel of an idea for a tour began taking shape over a meal with a group of church friends (isn't that how all great adventures start?!) We wanted to experience the LC together in London, following that- to have time on retreat somewhere to rest in God's peace, soaking in what we've heard God say to us and then, to visit Oxford where God has moved not only historically, but profoundly in these present days. And so, with the help of Lisa Tarzia and the Selah team our tour was created! St Columbs itself is a warm and welcoming church hosting events in our large hall, great coffee in our cafe, Alpha, playgroup, community garden, prayer vigils.... So far, the group attending the Tour is a mix of ages from 30s to 70s, not all lifetime Anglicans and all have complete faith it will be a spirit-filled time. We are so pleased to be able to offer this invitation - now more widely than our St Columbs community. If you feel stirred to come, we'd love to hear from you! You'll see on this page that the tour package commences on Wednesday 5th May, the day after the LC finishes. (If you would like to join us at LC- these tickets are in addition to the stated tour inclusions- contact us and we can add you to the group booking we will make to purchase LC tickets together- reach out before 20th September for an early bird price) Please note that each person is responsible for their own flights and accommodation in London and Selah can assist. We will travel together from London to Harnill Centre for Christian for Healing located in the beautiful Cotswolds region. The motto for the Centre is simply "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). As guests we will have the opportunity to participate in the rhythm of daily prayer at the retreat house, have quiet time for reflection, seek spiritual accompaniment and attend a healing prayer meeting. It might also simply be a time of spiritual rest. A complementary experience to the gathering and inspiration of the conference of the previous days! From there, we will end our time as a group in historic Oxford. The focus of our time will be learning from the team at St Aldate's church, where the Holy Spirit has been active recently. There will be an opportunity to immerse in the Christian history of the town too for those who wish to do so. Throughout the Tour, from London to Oxford, we will find opportunities to support and encourage one another. We will offer gentle, faithful, joyful leadership of the group throughout. May God's peace be with you as you discern the possibility of being a part of this special time.

We are thrilled to hear today’s announcement of the long-awaited ceasefire agreement. While this is an exciting and hopeful step, there is still a long journey ahead to achieve lasting peace in the Holy Land. The ceasefire plan consists of three critical stages, and challenges may arise at any point along the way. The stages are as follows: Stage 1: A six-week ceasefire and the return of some hostages, beginning Sunday, January 19, 2025. Stage 2: Establishing a permanent ceasefire and the release of all remaining hostages. Stage 3: The lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip and the rebuilding of Gaza. Our Director, Lisa Tarzia, will travel to Israel on a reconnaissance trip in June 2025 to ensure all preparations are in place to welcome our clients. Selah Tours will resume once Stage 2—the permanent ceasefire—is securely established. We anticipate being able to run one or two tours in late 2025, with a fuller schedule in 2026. Selah Tours to Israel and Palestine focus on exploring and experiencing biblical sites, with the aim of deepening and transforming Christian faith. It’s important to note that we will not travel to Gaza or areas near the Gaza Strip on our…

The UK has introduced Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETAs) for all visitors to the UK. From 8 January 2025, Australians who don’t currently need a visa for short stays or don’t already have a UK immigration status will need an ETA to travel to the UK. An ETA permits multiple visits to the UK for stays of up to 6 months at a time over 2 years or until the holder’s passport expires, whichever is sooner. An ETA does not guarantee entry to the UK. Sadly there are many scam websites for these types of transactions so we encourage you to only use the government website. More details can be found HERE.
