    OVERVIEW

Wild Africa is an extraordinary journey through some of God’s most spectacular creation — a tour filled with adventure, wildlife, Christian fellowship and opportunities to serve.

We begin in South Africa’s magnificent Kruger National Park, heading out on game drives in search of Africa’s remarkable wildlife and taking time to appreciate the wonder and diversity of God’s creation.

From the bush we travel to beautiful Cape Town, where our time will be about more than sightseeing. Alongside exploring this remarkable city, we’ll spend time with a local Christian mission, getting involved in practical volunteering and community work and learning from those faithfully serving their communities.

Then it’s time for adventure! We board our overland adventure truck and journey north along the wild west coast of South Africa and into Namibia. We’ll stand before the vastness of Fish River Canyon, walk amongst Namibia’s incredible red sand dunes, encounter wildlife, share wonderful food and enjoy the fun and fellowship that comes from travelling together.

Throughout our journey, we’ll make space to pause, reflect and encounter God — in the people we meet, in the communities we serve and in the breathtaking landscapes around us.

Our journey concludes in Windhoek, with the option to continue to the magnificent Victoria Falls.

Wild Africa is more than a holiday. It’s an adventure through God’s extraordinary creation, shared in faith, fellowship and service.

Lisa Tarzia is the owner and director of Selah Christian Tours and has spent more than 40 years working in the travel industry. From 2006, she also operated Mission Travel, a specialist humanitarian travel business helping churches, mission organisations and volunteers travel around the world.

Africa has always held a very special place in Lisa’s heart. She has travelled to the continent more than 16 times over the years and continues to be captivated by its people, landscapes, wildlife and extraordinary diversity.

In May 2026, Lisa travelled through South Africa and Namibia on a holiday following a journey similar to Wild Africa. She was so overwhelmed by the beauty of what she experienced — and had so much fun along the way — that she came home knowing she simply had to share it with the Selah community.

Lisa will personally lead Wild Africa, bringing together the things she loves most about travel: discovering new places, connecting with local people, sharing life and laughter with a group, serving others and making space to recognise God at work in the world around us.

Join Lisa for an adventure through Africa as we marvel together at God’s incredible creation, meet some of its wonderful people, serve alongside local Christian communities and share an experience that we hope will stay with us long after we return home.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to our accommodation at Kubu Safari Lodge.
Enjoy some lunch & rest before our first game drive on the nearby private reserve.

    Hotel: Kubu Safari Lodge

After breakfast at our lodge, we set out for an unforgettable full-day safari through the legendary Kruger National Park. With cameras ready and eyes scanning the bush, we’ll journey through this vast wilderness in search of Africa’s iconic Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo — along with giraffe, zebra, antelope and an extraordinary variety of birdlife.

We’ll enjoy a packed lunch along the way, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush, as we experience the thrill of seeing some of God’s most magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

    Return to Kubu for dinner.

    Hotel: Kubu Safari Lodge

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
After breakfast, we visit the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, where we’ll learn about the important work being done to rescue, rehabilitate and protect South Africa’s native wildlife. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see some of Africa’s remarkable animals up close while gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges facing wildlife conservation.

Following our visit, we transfer to the airport, with time to purchase lunch along the way, before flying south to Cape Town — one of the world’s most spectacularly situated cities.

On arrival, we transfer to the Cape Milner Hotel, our home for the next few nights. Settle in and relax before coming together for dinner at the hotel and our first evening in beautiful Cape Town.

Hotel: Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

    Included Meals:

    B
    D
After breakfast, we make our way to one of Cape Town’s most iconic landmarks, Table Mountain. Weather permitting, we’ll ascend to the top and take in the spectacular panoramic views across the city, coastline and surrounding mountains — a wonderful vantage point from which to appreciate the beauty of this remarkable corner of God’s creation.

Afterwards, enjoy lunch at your own expense before a free afternoon to explore Cape Town at your own pace. You may like to visit historic Robben Island, browse the shops and waterfront attractions at the V&A Waterfront, or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere of the city.

Tonight promises to be a highlight! We head to GOLD Restaurant for a vibrant celebration of African culture, beginning with an interactive African drumming experience before enjoying a generous multi-course dinner inspired by flavours from across the continent. Expect great food, music, colour, energy and plenty of fun as we enjoy a memorable night together in Cape Town.

Hotel: Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

    Included Meals:

    B
    D
After breakfast, we set out for a spectacular day exploring the Cape Peninsula, travelling along one of South Africa’s most beautiful stretches of coastline.

Our first stop is the seaside village of Hout Bay, surrounded by mountains and overlooking its picturesque harbour, before continuing south towards the dramatic landscapes of the Cape of Good Hope. Here, rugged cliffs, sweeping ocean views and windswept coastline provide another wonderful reminder of the sheer beauty and diversity of God’s creation.

We’ll stop for lunch at the beautifully located Two Oceans Restaurant, enjoying wonderful views over False Bay, before continuing to Boulders Beach. This protected coastal haven is home to a colony of delightful African penguins, which we can watch waddling along the sand, nesting amongst the rocks and swimming in the clear waters of the bay.

We return to Cape Town in the late afternoon, with the evening free to choose your own restaurant for dinner and enjoy the city at leisure.

Hotel: Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
After breakfast, today gives us the opportunity to experience another side of South Africa as we spend time serving alongside a local Christian ministry in the community.

Rather than simply visiting, we want to come ready to listen, learn and lend a hand wherever it is most useful. Our activities will be guided by the needs of the local ministry and may involve practical service, community projects or spending time with the people they support. It will be an opportunity to see something of what God is doing through His people in Cape Town and to play a small part in their work.

Lunch will be at your own expense during the day before returning to our hotel later in the afternoon.

At 6.00pm, we meet our Namibia overland team for a briefing on the exciting next stage of Wild Africa. We’ll meet the crew, learn more about life aboard our adventure truck and hear what to expect as we leave Cape Town behind and journey north through South Africa and into the wild landscapes of Namibia.

Dinner is at your own expense this evening, giving you the chance to enjoy one final night in Cape Town before our overland adventure begins!

Hotel: Cape Milner Hotel, Cape Town

    Included Meals:

    B
Depart Cape Town this morning and travel along the west coast to the small seaside town of Lamberts Bay. The
bay’s white beaches, lobsters and incredible wildlife earned the town its nickname ‘the diamond of the west coast’.
When you arrive, enjoy a delicious feast at a local open-air restaurant, where the ocean views will make for the
perfect lunch setting. After, you'll head to Trawal where you can relax among the wine farms and the Cedarberg
    Mountain Range.

Your travel time today will be approximately 5 hours.

Hotel: Highlanders Lodge or similar, Trawal

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Say farewell to South Africa as you cross the border into Namibia. Today is a bit of a long travel day, so it's a good idea to get stuck into your book or favourite podcasts. Mid-afternoon, arrive on the banks of the Orange River – the longest river in South Africa, running from the Drakensberg Mountain Range into the Atlantic Ocean. This river is significant for its role in transporting diamonds, which leave deposits that are found along the coastline. When you arrive, enjoy the rest of the day exploring at your own pace.

Your travel time today will be approximately 7 hours.

Hotel: Felix Unite or similar, Orange River

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Spend a leisurely morning unwinding by the outdoor pool or soaking in the views of the Orange River in the
morning light. If relaxing isn't your style, maybe head out on a canoe adventure along the river (own expesne) and through the ancient Richtersveld Mountains.
Later, venture to Fish River Canyon – one of the biggest canyons in the world.
Fish River Canyon is the largest canyon in Africa and is widely described as the second-largest canyon in the world, after the Grand Canyon in the USA. It is amazing!
Along the way, stop at various lookouts to catch this gigantic gorge on camera.
Look out for some exotic birdlife while you’re here, including plovers, wagtails, hamerkops and herons – you might even catch a glimpse of a baboon or an antelope at dusk!
Enjoy sunset drinks overlooking this spectacular canyon then return to our hotel for dinner.

Your travel time today will be approximately 5 hours.
Please bring your own towel for the canoe trip.

    Hotel: Canyon Village or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Say goodbye to the scenic Orange River as you drive to the eastern edge of the Namib Desert – the world's oldest desert, known for its array of geological features.
Today is a long travel day so enjoy the ever-changing scenery, maybe play some road trip games with your fellow travellers, and on arrival take some time to relax at your desert lodge before dinner.

Your travel time today will be approximately 9 hours.

Hotel: Desert Camp or Desert Quiver Camp or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
After breakfast, make an early morning visit to Sossusvlei, which lies at the end of an ancient riverbed.
If you find yourself in the mood, a climb to the top of Dune 45 will reward you with panoramic views.
Then head to Dead Vlei – a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest dunes in the world, including ‘Big Daddy’ and ‘Crazy Dune’.
When you arrive, maybe explore the area on foot or organise a 4WD transfer out to the entrance point.
In the afternoon, visit Sesriem Gorge. Shaped by water erosion over thousands of years, the place got its name, Sesriem (meaning ‘six belts’ in Afrikaans), from the people who lived in the area who used six knotted belts tied together to pull up water from the deep gorge.

Hotel: Desert Camp or Desert Quiver Camp or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Depart your lodge this morning and travel across the Namib Desert to the Atlantic Ocean coastline. Along the way, you'll see the incredible Kuiseb Canyon, before arriving at the beachside town of Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast.
When you arrive, the rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own place. Your local leader will take you to a local travel agent, where you might like to take part in one of the optional activities on offer the following day (own expense).

Your travel time today will be approximately 6 hours.

Hotel: The Delight Swakopmund or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Soak up some free time in this gorgeous coastal oasis.
Your accommodation is within walking distance of town, making optional activities easy to access.
Maybe join Lisa at the Swakopmund Park Run, or stroll along the beach, explore the open-air markets or visit the local museum.

Tonight, maybe head out as a group for dinner at a local restaurant – we will have the best recommendations!

    Included Meals:

    B
Attend a local church service before we hit the road and head into the heart of Damaraland. The ancient landscapes of the Kunene Region are ruggedly beautiful – think sunsets and night skies filled with a multitude of dazzling stars. This part of Namibia is also known as Damaraland, as it’s the ancestral homeland of the enigmatic Damara people. Home to a small population of hardy desert adapted elephants and flora and fauna distinct to this region, this is a spot for your camera, too.

Your travel time today will be approximately 6 hours.

Hotel: Damara Mopane Lodge or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Spend the morning exploring the surrounding sites with a local.
Visit the Petrified Forest, home to 280-million-year old fossilised tree trunks, and the Twyfelfontein Heritage Site, which boasts one of the largest concentrations of ancient rock engravings in southern Africa. Then, wander through the Living Museum of the Damara and learn about traditional Damara culture. Later, stop at Burnt Mountain – a 200-m-tall hill at the base of a barren volcanic ridge, where you can see how an 80-million-year-old lava flow has transformed the now desolate landscape.
The rest of the day is then free for you to explore at your own pace. Maybe relax by the pool or read a book in the shade.

Hotel: Damara Mopane Lodge or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
This morning, travel to Etosha National Park. When you arrive, you’ll head out on a short afternoon game drive. Due to Namibia protecting its game reserves against poaching, there are large herds of elephants, antelope and other herbivores here. Keep your eyes peeled for the resident wildlife! The rest of the evening is then free to relax.

Your travel time today will be approximately 5 hours.

    Hotel: Etosha Village or similar

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
Today, you'll set off on a 4WD game drive through Etosha National Park.
As you drive, look for black rhinos, Hartmann's mountain zebras, black-faced impalas, roan antelopes and the tiny Damara dik-diks. Game viewing in the park is relatively easy due to the man-made waterholes and the large, sparsely vegetated pans.

Later, head back to your accommodation for another free evening.

    Included Meals:

    B
    L
    D
From Etosha National Park, you’ll head to Windhoek – an old German town that’s now a cosmopolitan centre.
The Germanic architecture of this city contributes to its charming feel. The Tintenpalast (Ink Palace) and
Genossenschaftshaus are well worth visiting (own expense).
Check in to our hotel and relax or take some time to expore the city.

We will gather tonight for dinner at a nearby local restaurant to celebrate our time in Namibia.

    Included Meals:

    B
Our Wild Africa tour may end here for some with breakfast and one transfer to the airport.

We are met on arrival andtransfer to the beautiful Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, spectacularly positioned overlooking the African bush. After checking in and settling into our rooms, there’s time to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

This evening, we begin our Victoria Falls adventure in style with a dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. Sit back and enjoy the changing colours of the African sunset as we cruise along this legendary river, keeping watch for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and other wildlife along the banks.

Enjoy dinner on board as another wonderful day in Africa draws to a close.

    Included Meals:

After breakfast, we set out to experience the magnificent Victoria Falls, one of the world’s great natural wonders. Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya — “The Smoke That Thunders” — the sheer power, sound and scale of the falls make this an unforgettable experience.

The remainder of the day is free to choose from the many optional activities available at Victoria Falls (own expense). Whether you’re looking for adventure, wildlife or simply time to relax and enjoy the surroundings, there is something for everyone.
