Beat Shean was part of the Decapolis and a major centre of Greco-Roman culture in Jesus’ time. Biblically, it is known as the place where the Philistines displayed the bodies of King Saul and his sons after their defeat on Mount Gilboa (1 Samuel 31). Walking through its well-preserved ruins—including a grand theatre, colonnaded streets, bathhouses, and a marketplace—provides a vivid picture of life in ancient times. The site offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the contrast between the power of earthly empires and God’s eternal kingdom.
Continue to our kibbutz-style accommodation for 5 nights.
