Step into a land of vibrant colours, ancient traditions and breathtaking landscapes as we journey through the heart of Morocco. From the timeless medinas of Fez to the vast silence of the Sahara Desert, from tranquil oasis retreats to the bustling souks of Marrakesh and the refreshing Atlantic coast, this is a journey designed to awaken your sense of wonder. Along the way, we’ll create intentional space to pause, reflect and connect—embracing the spirit of Selah amidst one of the world’s most captivating cultures.

Andrea Blake has lived and worked in Morocco for 8 years and has a passion for the country and its people. She is currently working at a Christian Secondary College as a school counsellor & led a highly successful Spain & Morocco tour for Selah in 2024 and 2025. She speaks enough Moroccan Arabic to ensure you will get a good cup of coffee!

There will be one airport transfer to the hotel (most common flight).
Check in to the hotel will be from 2pm. Meet your fellow travellers for a welcome drink at 7pm followed by dinner at the hotel restaurant.

After breakfast, we begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most spectacular mosques in the world, dramatically perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. We then enjoy a panoramic tour of Casablanca, passing landmarks including the Corniche, Mohammed V Square, and the elegant Art Deco boulevards that reflect the city's unique blend of French and Moroccan heritage.
Leaving the coast behind, we travel to Rabat, Morocco's capital, where we enjoy lunch (own expense) before discovering some of the city's most significant historical sites. Our sightseeing includes the impressive Hassan Tower, the beautifully crafted Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the picturesque Kasbah of the Udayas, with its blue-and-white streets overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
As the sun begins to lower, we complete our journey to the imperial city of Fez, where we check into our hotel for dinner and our overnight stay.

This morning, we join ex pat church for Sunday worship at a church in Fez, sharing in fellowship and gaining an encouraging insight into Christian life in Morocco.
After the service, we begin an immersive exploration of the remarkable Fez Medina, one of the world’s largest and best-preserved medieval cities. Accompanied by our local guide, we wander through its maze of narrow lanes, bustling souks and artisan quarters, where craftsmen continue centuries-old traditions of pottery, metalwork, weaving, leatherwork and wood carving.

Our exploration will also include a delicious introduction to the flavours of Morocco. As we make our way through the medina, we sample local specialities such as stuffed dates, Moroccan pastries, olives, breads and fragrant spices, learning how these ingredients are used in everyday Moroccan cooking.
We will also get our hands dirty with a Zellige and pottery experience - a hands-on craft session, studio factory tour, and master artisan guidance.

Today we bid farewell to the ancient city of Fez and journey south towards the edge of the Sahara Desert. Travelling through the spectacular landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains, we experience a dramatic change in scenery as fertile farmland gives way to cedar forests, rugged mountain passes and vast desert plains.
We pass through the charming alpine town of Ifrane, often referred to as the "Switzerland of Morocco" for its European-style architecture, immaculate gardens and cool mountain climate. We then continue through the cedar forests near Azrou, where there is an opportunity to see the playful Barbary macaques that inhabit the region.
After lunch (own expense) in the market town of Midelt, nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains and renowned for its apple orchards, we continue south through the breathtaking Ziz Valley. Here, thousands of date palms line the oasis below, creating one of Morocco's most spectacular desert landscapes. We pause at a panoramic viewpoint to take in this unforgettable vista before continuing our journey.
By late afternoon we arrive in Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara Desert and a town famous for its ancient marine fossils and date harvests. Enjoy dinner and prepare for tomorrow's unforgettable desert adventure.

Today promises to be one of the highlights of our Moroccan journey as we venture into the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Travelling by 4WD, we explore this ever-changing landscape of golden dunes, stopping to admire the vast desert scenery and learn about the unique environment and the Berber people who have called this region home for centuries.
We visit the nearby desert town of Rissani, once the historic capital of the Tafilalt region and an important trading centre on the ancient caravan routes. Here we experience a taste of authentic southern Morocco, wandering through its traditional market and gaining an insight into local desert life.
This afternoon there is the opportunity to enjoy a memorable camel ride across the dunes, experiencing the timeless rhythm of desert travel as generations have done before us. As the sun begins to set, we pause atop the dunes to enjoy refreshments while watching the Sahara transform into a breathtaking palette of gold, orange and crimson—a truly unforgettable experience.
Tonight we will stay overnight in Merzoud in a comfortable desert camp with the opportunity to enjoy dinner under the stars.

This morning we farewell Erfoud and begin our journey west, travelling through some of Morocco's most dramatic desert landscapes. Along the way we stop at one of the region's lush palm oases, where the contrast between fertile green valleys and the surrounding desert is truly remarkable.
Here we enjoy a unique farm-to-table experience, meeting local producers and discovering how life flourishes in the oasis. We sample a selection of regional specialities, including freshly harvested dates, traditional breads, olives, almonds, seasonal fruits and fragrant mint tea, while learning about the ingenious irrigation systems that have sustained these communities for centuries.
Continuing our journey, we arrive at the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs rise more than 300 metres above the valley floor. There is time to stroll through this breathtaking natural wonder and admire one of Morocco's most impressive landscapes.
This afternoon we travel along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing ancient fortified villages and dramatic desert scenery before arriving in Ouarzazate, often referred to as the "Gateway to the Sahara." After checking into our hotel, we enjoy dinner and our overnight stay.

After several days of discovery and adventure, we pause to embrace the heart of what Selah is all about—creating space to rest, reflect and reconnect with God.
Set against the peaceful backdrop of southern Morocco, these two days are intentionally unhurried. Led by your Christian tour leader, we will share a series of optional devotional reflections, guided prayer experiences and times of quiet contemplation, providing an opportunity to process all that we have seen and experienced throughout our journey.
There will also be ample free time to simply relax by the pool, enjoy the hotel gardens or find a quiet place to read, journal and recharge.
For those who would like to explore further, a range of optional experiences will be available, including:
• A hands-on Moroccan cooking class, learning to prepare traditional tagines and local delicacies.
• A guided cycling excursion through nearby villages and palm groves.
• A traditional Moroccan hammam experience, offering a relaxing steam bath and spa treatment.
• A visit to a local artisan cooperative or nearby kasbah.
• Time to browse local markets and cafés at your own pace.
These retreat days are designed to nourish both body and soul, allowing each traveller the freedom to engage as much or as little as they choose before we continue the next stage of our Moroccan adventure.

This morning we farewell Ouarzazate and begin our journey across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains towards the vibrant city of Marrakech.
Our first stop is the remarkable Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco's most iconic fortified villages (ksars). Built from traditional earthen clay, this ancient settlement has stood for centuries along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. We take time to wander its narrow alleyways, climb to the hilltop granary for panoramic views, and discover why it has featured in numerous films and television productions, including Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Game of Thrones.
Continuing our journey, we cross the dramatic Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 metres), the highest mountain pass in Morocco. Along the way we enjoy breathtaking views of rugged peaks, Berber villages clinging to the hillsides, and ever-changing mountain landscapes.
Arriving in Marrakech later this afternoon, we check into our hotel before enjoying dinner together and preparing to discover Morocco's legendary "Red City" over the coming days.

Today we immerse ourselves in the colour, culture and energy of Marrakech, Morocco's captivating "Red City." Our morning begins with a guided exploration of the city's historic Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where maze-like laneways reveal bustling souks filled with spices, textiles, ceramics, leather goods and the work of skilled local artisans.
We continue to the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the beating heart of Marrakech. By day, the square is alive with market stalls, orange juice vendors, storytellers and musicians, offering a fascinating glimpse into everyday Moroccan life.
Later, we visit the beautiful Majorelle Garden, a tranquil oasis of exotic plants, fountains and the iconic cobalt-blue buildings created by French artist Jacques Majorelle and later lovingly restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. This peaceful sanctuary provides a welcome contrast to the lively streets of the medina.
The afternoon offers time to browse the markets, relax at a café overlooking the square, or simply soak up the atmosphere before we gather this evening for a memorable dinner at a traditional Moroccan restaurant. Enjoy authentic local cuisine accompanied by warm Moroccan hospitality as we celebrate the wonderful experiences and friendships formed throughout our journey.

Today we will travel to a Berber village on the edge of the Atlas mountains and experience some of their traditional culture. A local family will serve us Moroccan mint tea and then teach us how to make the local bread and traditional main dish (Tagine). After we have all made our own bread and set the tagine to cook, we will hear about what the work looks like in this country, before consuming the fruits of our newly learned cooking skills.

This morning we farewell the vibrant city of Marrakech and travel west to the picturesque Atlantic coast and the charming seaside town of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its relaxed atmosphere, whitewashed buildings and historic Portuguese fortifications.

Upon arrival, the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may choose to wander through the atmospheric medina, browse the many artisan galleries and boutiques, or stroll along the bustling fishing harbour, watching the colourful blue boats return with the day's catch.

Alternatively, take a leisurely walk along Essaouira's expansive sandy beach, relax at one of the many waterfront cafés, or simply soak up the fresh sea air and slower pace of this delightful coastal town.
This evening, we will enjoy fresh local seafood at one of the harbour-side restaurants for our farewell dinner before returning to our hotel for the night.

After a relaxed breakfast, we bid farewell to Morocco's beautiful Atlantic coast as we check out of our hotel and begin our journey to Casablanca.
Travelling north along the coastline, there will be time to reflect on the remarkable experiences of the past twelve days—from the ancient imperial cities and Roman ruins to the golden Sahara, majestic Atlas Mountains, colourful souks and peaceful retreat. Morocco's rich history, vibrant culture and warm hospitality leave us with memories that will last a lifetime.
On arrival in Casablanca, our tour concludes with a transfer to Mohammed V International Airport for your onward flight.

For travellers wishing to extend their stay or with flights departing from Marrakech, a private transfer to Marrakech can be arranged at an additional cost.
